Web App Development Companies: Portals, Dashboards and PWAs That Hold Up

August 17, 2026 · 6 min read

When a progressive web app is the right call, when it isn't, and how to judge a web partner on performance and accessibility.

Most products need both

Customers get a mobile app. Staff and partners get a dense web console. Building both against one API is cheaper than building either twice, and it is how we structure most engagements.

Where a PWA is genuinely the right answer

Low-frequency, content- or form-heavy experiences with no deep hardware needs work well as progressive web apps and skip store review entirely. Anything relying on rich notifications, background work or wallet integration should be native or cross-platform.

Judge on the boring metrics

Core Web Vitals, keyboard navigation, screen-reader labelling and a real performance budget. Ask for a Lighthouse run on a live client project rather than a portfolio screenshot.
